One family is keeping the state in its iron grip which is not good for the people, said BJP state president K Annamalai as he continued his padayatra at Mudukulathur and Paramakudi areas in Ramanathapuram district on Sunday. Addressing the people in Mudukulathur, Annamalai said people from the region want Modi to contest from Ramanathapuram because they feel that their water woes would be resolved. It was only after Modi became Prime Minister that the government began to work for the poor people, he said. Though there is good governance at the Centre which wants to develop people, the state government is not ready. āFor instance, the Centre is providing piped drinking water free under Jal Jivan Scheme, yet the state government demands Rs 6,000 per connection,ā he said.
