K S Alagiri meets Mallikarjun Kharge

TNCC chief K S Alagiri, along with his supporters, including Tiruvallur MP K Jayakumar and the five MLAs met Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in Bengaluru. The meeting took place against the backdrop of reports that a new TNCC leader may be appointed soon by the high command. Alagiri has been TNCC chief for four-and-a-half-years, a challenging task in a faction-ridden unit. “The change of leadership should have been done a year ago and not at this critical juncture when elections are just months away. Alagiri should remain at the helm. If the high command still wants a dalit to helm the TNCC, the best choice is Sasikanth Senthil not Selvaperunthagai,” said a close associate of Alagiri.
