CAG report: War of words between Stalin, Annamalai

With just few months to go for Lok Sabha polls, Chief Minister and DMK chief MK Stalin and TN BJP chief Annamalai were locked in war of words on CAG Report which allegedly claimed irregularities in few schemes initiates by the Centre.

Stalin lambasted the BJP government at the Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for calling the DMK ā€œcorruptā€.Speaking at the wedding ceremony of the daughter of the Nagapattinam MP, M. Selvaraj of the Communist Party of India at Pavithramanickam in Tiruvarur district, Stalin said the Prime Minister had no moral right to speak about corruption as the CAG report has exposed the ā€œcorrupt deedsā€ of the BJP government at the Centre.

Hitting back, Annamalai saidĀ that Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is the abode of corruption adding that MK Stalin has forgotten that accusing other parties of corruption will make the public laugh.Ā Chief Minister Stalin should explain where the words such as corruption, malpractice, fraud or allotment of contract to certain persons for the Dwarka Expressway as mentioned by the Chief Minister, he added.
