Filmmaker Nanda Periyasamy is ready with his next ‘Thiru. Manickam’ starring Samuthirakani in the lead role. The story revolves around a simple plot of how an ordinary man named ‘Manickam’ becomes ‘Thiru. Manickam’.
While Samuthirakani appears as the protagonist in this movie, the others in the star cast include Ananya, Bharathiraja, Nassar, Thambi Ramaiah, Sriman, Vadivukarasi, Karunakaran, Ilavarasu, and many more prominent actors. While the film’s shooting already wrapped up, and the postproduction work nearing completion, the First Look has captured everyone’s attention.
The film begins on a curious note if a man can remain honest and genuine amidst the chaos of current society. The film’s protagonist Manickam, who has ritually inclined to honesty, gets troubled by his own family members including wife, uncle, aunty, mother-in-law and others, who want him to choose the dishonest means of living. Besides, he is troubled by the corrupt police officers, and more than all, the hero is haunted by his own conscience as well. How he manages to tackle all the odds, and accomplishes a complicated mission, by sticking to honesty forms the basic crux of this story.
Nanda Periyasamy, who captured the National spotlights with his Hindi film ‘Rashmi Rocket’ has written and directed this movie.
Actor Samuthirakani has given his heart and soul into this character that exhibits pain, pathos, distractions and emotions together. Both Bharathiraja and Nassar will appear in never-seen-before characters. Thambi Ramaiah, Ilavarasu, Chinni Jayanth, Chaams, Sriman, Karunakaran and others perform unique roles in this movie.
Ananya, who made her debut in Tamil cinema through Samuthirakani’s Nadodigal is playing his pair in this movie.
Vishal Chandrasekar, who won the hearts of music lovers with his spellbinding score in ‘Sita Ramam’ is composing music for this movie. Sneghan, Raju Murugan, Sorko and Ilango Krishnan have penned the lyrics for this film.
Cinematography Sukumar of ‘Myna’ fame has handled cinematography for this film by capturing beautiful visuals of exotic locales in Kumily, Munnar, Megamalai, Thekkadi, and many other places.
GP Ravikumar, Chintha Gopalakrishna Reddy and Raja Senthil have produced this film that will speak about the human conscience.
