In a significant development, the eagerly awaited Vande Bharat train service between Chennai and Tirunelveli is set to begin operations from Monday, September 25. Prime Minister Modi is slated to inaugurate this modern rail service, bringing an efficient and comfortable travel option to the people of Tamil Nadu. One of the standout features of this train service is its affordability. The fare for the AC Chair Car compartment is set at Rs 1,620, making it accessible to a wide range of travelers. Additionally, for those seeking an even more luxurious experience, there is an Executive AC Chair Car compartment available at a fare of Rs 3,025. It’s worth noting that the train offers only one Executive AC Chair Car compartment, which promises a premium travel experience with multiple amenities and enhanced comfort. The train’s schedule is designed to accommodate the needs of travelers, running on all days except Tuesdays. The train’s journey from Tirunelveli to Chennai Egmore will commence at 6 am, reaching its destination at 1.50 pm. Along the way, it will make stops at key stations, including Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Tiruchy, Villupuram, and Tambaram. On the return journey, the train will depart from Chennai Egmore at 2.50 pm and arrive in Tirunelveli at 10.40 pm. The scheduled stops on this route include Tambaram, Villupuram, Tiruchy, Dindigul, Madurai, and Virudhunagar. The Vande Bharat train is expected to cover the 652.49-kilometer distance in approximately 7 hours and 50 minutes, maintaining an average speed of 83.30 kmph.
