AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Wednesday called VCK leader and a key DMK ally Thol Thirumavalavan, who has been hospitalised for illness. AMMK chief T T V Dhinakaran issued a statement wishing Thirumavalavan a speedy recovery.
AIADMK sources said the former chief minister telephoned the VCK chief, admitted to a private hospital in the city and enquired about his health.
Meanwhile, EPS condemned the state government for not withdrawing the power tariff hike for industries despite the one-day shutdown.
