Chennai: Strict vigil will be maintained in the city ahead of President Draupadi Murmu’s two-day visit to Chennai today.
The President will land in Chennai today and stag tonight at Raj Bhavan in Guindy. On October 27, Murmu will grace the 8th convocation of Indian Maritime University at Chennai.
Over 10000 cops will be deployed in duty ahead of her visit. Special.teams have been formed to maintain vigil.
Those attending the convocation will be screened thoroughly before allowed inside the venue. Sniffer-fogs and bomb detection squads are kept ready.
