TN leaders condemn attack on Raj Bhavan

A history-sheeter has been arrested by the Chennai police for allegedly hurling a bottle filled with petrol at the front gate of the Tamil Nadu Raj Bhavan in Chennai on Wednesday afternoon.
State BJP chief K Annamalai insinuates that the MK Stalin-led DMK government is ‘sponsoring these attacks’. A history-sheeter has been arrested by the Chennai police for allegedly hurling a bottle filled with petrol at the front gate of the Tamil Nadu Raj Bhavan in Chennai on Wednesday afternoon.
Taking to X, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami said the incident “has questioned the status of TN as a peaceful state…The incident which has happened a day before the arrival of the President has raised doubts in the minds of the people whether TN has joined the list of unsafe states.”
Sports minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, condemning the hurling of the crude bomb at Raj Bhavan, said, “The state government will not tolerate violence.” He was speaking to reporters at Theni.
Union minister of state for fisheries L Murugan said, “under the Dravidian model of governance run by the DMK, even the governor is not safe.” BJP state president K Annamalai, took to X: “…the same person, who attacked BJP headquarters in Tamil Nadu in February 2022, is held responsible for the attack on Raj Bhavan today. These continuous attacks only leave one to think the DMK government is sponsoring these attacks.”
Former AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam, AMMK president T T V Dhinkaran, expelled AIADMK leader V K Sasikala, TMC president G K Vasan also condemned the incident.
