The Vadapalani all-women police have booked deputy spokesperson of VCK and Bigg Boss fame R Vikraman on charges of rape and cheating following a complaint from a Chennai-based woman activist and lawyer living in London.
In a complaint on July 25, the woman, who is pursuing a doctoral research degree in London, demanded action against Vikraman, alleging intellectual, emotional, sexual, and financial exploitation. The woman, who belongs to the Adi Dravida community, said that in the guise of a romantic relationship Vikraman cheated her of several lakh rupees.
As police did not take action, she approached the court, which ordered police to register an FIR. He was booked under provisions of the IT Act, the SC/ST Act, criminal intimidation and the TN Prohibition of Woman Harassment Act.
