AIADMK MLA Sellur K Raju has commended the dedication and performance of HR&CE Minister PK Sekarbabu while expressing doubts about whether fellow ministers are fulfilling their responsibilities. In a recent statement, Raju also responded to remarks made by BJP state president K Annamalai regarding the abolishment of HR&CE.Regarding K Annamalai’s suggestion to abolish HR&CE, Raju labeled these comments as unnecessary. Instead, he suggested that the BJP leader could have focused on highlighting the importance of reducing unnecessary expenses within the department.
Raju also criticized the state government for not taking sufficient precautionary measures ahead of the northeast monsoon. He argued that it is not a wise time to undertake projects like laying underground pipes for the Mullaperiyar drinking water project, especially given the active monsoon conditions. He expressed regret about the poor condition of roads in the temple city of Madurai, despite the presence of two ministers.
