Four killed
In a tragic incident in the early hours of Saturday, four individuals are feared dead after a collision between a State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) bus and an Omnibus at Chettiappanur near Vaniyambadi. The accident, which occurred as the SETC bus lost control while navigating a curve, has left the community in shock and mourning.
The casualties include the SETC bus driver and a woman passenger. A total of 57 individuals sustained injuries in the collision and were promptly rushed to the Vaniyambadi government hospital for medical attention.
Tirupattur Superintendent of Police, Albert John, and AIADMK MLA G Senthil Kumar from Vaniyambadi visited the injured at the hospital, expressing their condolences and support to the affected families. The authorities are working diligently to gather information and provide necessary assistance to the victims and their families during this difficult time.
Collector Baskara Pandian also visited the accident site, emphasising the gravity of the situation. Preliminary reports suggest that the SETC bus, en route from Chennai to Bengaluru, lost control on a curve, resulting in a collision with the Bengaluru-bound Omnibus from Chennai.
