Aavin: Minister denies Annamalai’s claim

Tamil Nadu’s Dairy Minister, Mano Thangaraj, has vehemently denied the accusations made by the state BJP president, K Annamalai, regarding the alleged low fat content in Aavin milk. Thangaraj dismissed the claims, asserting that Annamalai’s statements were politically motivated and may be linked to potential benefits from companies outside the state. Addressing Annamalai’s assertions, particularly highlighted in a recent tweet on the microblogging site ‘X,’ Thangaraj expressed dismay at what he termed the “deliberate spreading of misinformation.” He pointed out a lack of specificity in the referenced test report, emphasizing that it fails to clarify its association with Aavin Milk. Thangaraj also raised doubts about the authenticity of the sample, noting that Aavin exclusively packages its products in packets and not PET containers, as suggested in the allegations. “We’re deeply concerned that your statements may mislead and create unnecessary doubt. Aavin has an impeccable reputation, and we stand by the integrity of our processes,” stated the minister. He went on to express regret, suggesting that Annamalai’s actions could potentially harm Tamil Nadu’s reputation for political gains.
