In a gesture of gratitude and appreciation, Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) is set to mark its Foundation Day on December 3 with a special offer for passengers. Commuters traveling on that day will have the opportunity to avail themselves of single-journey QR-based tickets for a nominal fare of 5. Rajesh Chaturvedi, the Director of Systems and Operations at CMRL, expressed his sentiments about this unique initiative, stating, “This special fare is a token of our appreciation for [passengers’] unwavering support and trust in Chennai Metro.” The move aims not only to commemorate the foundation of the metro system but also to acknowledge the integral role passengers play in its success. The QR-based ticketing system aligns with modern technological trends, offering a convenient and efficient way for passengers to access the metro services. The use of QR codes simplifies the ticketing process, making it faster and more user-friendly.
