In a significant step towards enhancing healthcare facilities, the State Bank of India (SBI) Chennai Circle has extended a generous donation of Rs 79 lakhs to the renowned Sankara Nethralaya in Chennai. This philanthropic gesture, conducted under the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, aims to bolster medical equipment at the esteemed healthcare institution. The financial contribution from SBI will facilitate the acquisition of a Carl Zeiss Clarus 700 Ultra Widefield Fundus Camera with Fundus Fluorescein Angiography (FFA) capabilities. This state-of-the-art equipment is designed to capture high-resolution images of the inner parts of the eye, including the retina and optic disc, enabling precise diagnostics and effective treatment planning. Challa Sreenivasulu Chetty, Managing Director of SBI, officially handed over the donation to TS. Surendiran, Chairman of Sankara Nethralaya Medical Research Foundation, and Mr. K. Narayanan, Treasurer of Sankara Nethralaya Medical Research Foundation. This collaboration underscores the commitment of the financial sector towards supporting advancements in healthcare and ensuring access to cutting-edge medical technologies. The Carl Zeiss Clarus 700 Fundus Camera is renowned for its advanced imaging capabilities, providing healthcare professionals with detailed insights into ocular health. Sankara Nethralaya, a leading eye care institution, will benefit from the enhanced diagnostic precision offered by this equipment, ultimately contributing to improved patient care. This philanthropic endeavor reflects the synergy between the corporate sector and healthcare institutions in Chennai, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts to strengthen medical infrastructure. The SBI’s commitment to social responsibility is exemplified through this donation, demonstrating a shared vision for the well-being of the community.
