New York, Jan 19: It seems that layoff season is back as several tech companies are firing employees in big numbers. The latest one to do is YouTube. In a continuation of recent layoffs within the Alphabet family, YouTube has reportedly fired approximately 100 employees as part of a strategic restructuring effort targeting Creator management and operations. Last week’s Google layoffs impacted various sectors, including hardware, Assistant, engineering, and ads.The restructuring involves localizing Creator management teams on a per-country basis while centralizing other teams, focusing on distinct areas such as music and another catering to sports, media, film, and TV. Support teams are also undergoing a division into Creator-facing and end-user segments. Despite these changes, assurances have been made that no Creators will lose support, 9to5Google reported.
