The launch aims to enhance law enforcement capabilities, take swift action against suspects, and provide assistance to the public and senior citizens within the Greater Chennai Police (GCP) limits. The trio of apps includes the Integrated Vehicle Monitoring System (IVMS), Parundhu, Nivaranam, and a dedicated program catering to senior citizens named Bandham. Integrated Vehicle Monitoring System (IVMS): Launched at a cost of Rs 1.81 cr, IVMS is designed to trace missing and stolen vehicles within the Greater Chennai Police limits. The system employs 75 cameras equipped with the IVMS app installed at 25 strategic locations across the city. This initiative serves the dual purpose of preventing criminals from using stolen vehicles for illegal activities and ensuring the efficient recovery of missing vehicles. During crisis situations, an additional 50 moving cameras can be deployed based on requirements. The IVMS app also features an alert mechanism, allowing it to notify police officers promptly when a detected vehicle is flagged as stolen or missing. Parundhu, Nivaranam These apps are geared towards reducing crimes and expediting action against suspects. Parundhu focuses on crime prevention by leveraging technology to gather intelligence and proactively address potential criminal activities. Nivaranam, on the other hand, streamlines the process of taking swift action against suspects, ensuring a more efficient response from law enforcement agencies. Bandham Catering specifically to the needs of senior citizens, Bandham is a program aimed at providing assistance and support. It enhances the safety of senior citizens by offering them a dedicated platform to seek help, report emergencies, and access support services
