LS polls: DMK, Cong gear gear up for seat sharing talks

In anticipation of the upcoming 2024 Parliamentary elections, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and its ally, the Congress party, are set to commence seat-sharing discussions on January 28. Highly placed sources reveal that negotiations will take place between the respective seat-sharing committees of both parties at the DMK headquarters, Anna Arivalayam. The National Alliance Committee, featuring its convenor Mukul Wasnik along with senior leaders Ashok Gehlot, Bhupesh Baghel, and Salman Khurshid, is scheduled to visit the state on Sunday. The Congress team, led by its treasurer T R Baalu, will engage in discussions with the DMK seat-sharing team during the meeting at Anna Arivalayam. As the political landscape gears up for the electoral battle, both parties are expected to strategize and finalize the allocation of seats in a collaborative effort. The outcome of these discussions will play a crucial role in shaping the electoral alliances and determining the candidate distribution for the parliamentary constituencies. The Congress party, expressing confidence in its electoral standing, aims to retain its previous tally of 10 seats, including representation from Puducherry.
