Chennai, Jan 26: In a fiery speech on ‘language martyrs’ day,’ Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin launched a blistering critique against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), declaring it to be worse than Corona, referring to the Covid-19 pandemic. The scathing remarks came during a public meeting organized by the DMK in Chennai.Stalin, while addressing the gathering, asserted that voters in North India would steer clear of supporting the BJP, particularly in light of the handling of the Covid-19 lockdown. He accused the Union government, led by the BJP, of inadequately addressing the needs of people stranded in North India during the lockdown, resulting in tragic deaths on railway tracks.
During the Covid period, the Union government announced the lockdown, and there were no facilities made for people of North India to return to their native places. Many died on railway tracks, and for doing this, the BJP is worse than Corona,’ Stalin proclaimed.
He further criticized the BJP’s attempts to divert attention by inaugurating the Ram temple and alleged that the party sought to deceive the people, particularly in North India. Stalin highlighted a circulating video on social media featuring a child speaking in Hindi, emphasizing that the BJP did not want people from North India to gain awareness.
Stalin did not spare AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, accusing him of aligning with the BJP and supporting controversial bills in Parliament, including the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 (CAA), the three farm laws, and the resolution to revoke the special status of Jammu & Kashmir.
By supporting the BJP, he betrayed the minorities, and now he is staging a drama. Minorities did not and will not forget the betrayal. Both the AIADMK and the BJP need to be defeated in the upcoming (Lok Sabha) elections, Stalin declared.
