Chennai, Feb 8: In a shocking incident in the early hours of Wednesday, a miscreant set fire to waste outside the renowned Kapaleeshwarar temple in Mylapore, Chennai. The incident, which occurred at around 1 am, has prompted a swift response from local authorities, with the Mylapore police launching a search for the suspect using CCTV camera footage.According to eyewitness accounts, an unidentified individual was observed sitting near the temple’s entrance on East Road for an extended period. Suddenly, the individual poured petrol from a can onto the ground and ignited it, sparking a fire. The perpetrator then proceeded to pour more petrol onto the flames, intensifying the blaze.
Alerted by the commotion, residents of the area promptly notified the Mylapore police about the unfolding incident. However, by the time authorities arrived at the scene, the suspect had already fled. Despite the suspect’s escape, law enforcement officials have launched a thorough investigation into the matter based on available video evidence.
