In a significant political development, the Indiya Jananayaka Katchi (IJK) founder T R Paarivendhar, also known as Pachamuthu, has declared an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. This alliance solidifies the party’s commitment to join forces with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
During a press conference held after a crucial meeting with BJP delegates, Paarivendhar affirmed the alliance’s objectives, stating, “We will continue to work in alliance with the BJP to strengthen the hand of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” He further disclosed the party’s demand for two Lok Sabha constituencies, namely Perambalur and Kallakurichi, to be allocated to IJK. Additionally, he confirmed his candidacy for the Perambalur Lok Sabha constituency for a second consecutive term.
This alliance comes on the heels of the BJP’s recent pact with AC Shanmugam’s New Justice Party, demonstrating the BJP’s strategic efforts to broaden its coalition and strengthen its electoral prospects.
