In a bid to bolster connectivity to the Kalaignar Centenary Bus Terminus (KCBT) in Kilambakkam, Southern Railway has announced the extension of 10 suburban train services from Tambaram to Guduvanchery, slated to commence from Monday, February 26.The Chennai Division of Southern Railway revealed that five train services from Chennai Beach to Tambaram will now operate with extended routes. Departure times from Chennai Beach station are scheduled at 7:20 p.m., 8:15 p.m., 8:45 p.m., 8:55 p.m., and 9:40 p.m. In the return direction, trains will depart from Guduvanchery at 8:55 p.m., 9:45 p.m., 10:10 p.m., 10:25 p.m., and 11:20 p.m.
This strategic extension of suburban train services aims to enhance connectivity to KCBT, facilitating improved access for commuters and offering a more convenient and efficient travel experience. With the extension of services, passengers traveling to and from KCBT will benefit from enhanced transportation options, streamlining their journeys and reducing travel times.
The move comes as part of Southern Railway’s ongoing efforts to optimize commuter services and address the evolving transportation needs of the region.
