DMK announces candidates’ interview on March 10

In a significant move ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has announced the commencement of candidate interviews for aspiring Members of Parliament (MPs). The announcement, made by DMK General Secretary Duraimurugan, underscores the party’s commitment to a rigorous and transparent selection process.

Scheduled for March 10, the interviews will be personally conducted by Chief Minister and DMK President M K Stalin. The purpose of these interviews is to solicit the views of the party’s MP ticket applicants regarding the prevailing political landscape and the likelihood of victory in their respective constituencies.
The application window for MP tickets officially closed on Thursday, signaling the culmination of a period of intense anticipation among DMK cadres and aspirants. It has been reported that the party received an overwhelming response, with over 2,590 applications submitted for the 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu. Additionally, it is anticipated that approximately 18 seats will be allocated to coalition partners.
In his directive, Duraimurugan emphasized that only district secretaries responsible for the respective Parliamentary constituencies are permitted to attend the interviews. Furthermore, strict instructions have been issued to applicants, prohibiting the presence of their supporters and endorsers during the interview process.
