The ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu on Thursday said party president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will attend an INDIA bloc election rally in Coimbatore on April 12.Single phase polls to 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu will be held on April 19.
A DMK release here said the two leaders will participate in the rally and seek support for candidates of the opposition bloc.
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi, who is seeking a successive term from the WayanadĀ Lok SabhaĀ seat, has declared assets of more than ā¹20 crore in his nomination papers. RahulĀ Gandhi filed the papersĀ before the returning officer on April 3.
He has declared movable assets to the tune of ā¹9,24,59,264 and showed the purchasing price of his self-acquired immovable assets as being worth ā¹7,93,03,977 in the affidavit. The affidavit also showed that the current market value of the self-acquired immovable assets as ā¹9,04,89,000 and the value of the inherited assets as ā¹2,10,13,598. Mr. Gandhi has claimed that he has a liability of ā¹49,79,184.
In the affidavit, he has declared that he has ā¹55,000 as cash in hand. In the last election, he had declared total assets worth ā¹15,88,77,083 whereas in 2014, it was ā¹9.4 crore.
