DMK acting like corporate company, says EPS

In a scathing critique of the opposition party, AIADMK general secretary and leader of the opposition, Edappadi K Palaniswami, likened the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) to a corporate entity rather than a political party during a campaign event in Madurai on Tuesday.

While canvassing for his party’s candidate, P Saravanan, who is contesting from Madurai, Palaniswami emphasized the purported differences between the AIADMK and the DMK. During a morning walk at the Mattuthavani vegetable market, Palaniswami engaged with constituents, distributing campaign pamphlets and rallying support for Saravanan.

Addressing reporters, Palaniswami asserted his allegiance to the AIADMK, positioning himself not as a leader but as a dedicated cadre of the party. He underscored the absence of dynastic politics within the AIADMK, asserting that any cadre has the potential to ascend to leadership roles within the party structure.

In contrast, Palaniswami criticized the DMK, alleging that the party operates more akin to a corporate company, with Chief Minister M.K. Stalin at the helm. He accused the DMK of being run like a “leased” entity, implying a lack of internal democracy and autonomy within the party ranks.
