Chennai Metro City National Airport has introduced a new facility called “Self-package drop,” aimed at expediting the check-in process for passengers flying from Terminal 1.This innovative feature, available exclusively for IndiGo Airlines passengers, allows travelers to scan their personal baggage at an automatic scanner machine and load it onto a conveyor belt, which then transports the luggage directly to the aircraft.
To accommodate this new service, check-in counters No. 60 to No. 63 have been converted to operate automatically, streamlining the baggage drop-off procedure and eliminating the need for manual intervention.
One of the key benefits of the “Self-package drop” facility is the significant reduction in waiting time for passengers. By bypassing traditional check-in procedures and opting for this self-service option, travelers can save valuable time and enjoy a smoother airport experience.
