Stalin gripped by fever of defeat, says EPS

AIADMK general secretary ‘Edappadi’ K Palaniswami launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister MK Stalin and the DMK during a public meeting in Attur, Salem, as part of the party’s election campaign.
Palaniswami accused Stalin of continuously targeting the AIADMK out of a sense of desperation and the “fever of defeat.” Asserting the strength of the AIADMK, Palaniswami stated that no amount of attacks from the DMK could dismantle the party.
Regarding the Sterlite shootout incident in Thoothukudi, Palaniswami blamed the DMK for instigating violence that led to police firing. He alleged that a DMK MLA had led a rally in violation of Section 144, resulting in a law and order situation.
Palaniswami highlighted the AIADMK government’s efforts to address the Sterlite issue, stating that the controversy originated during the DMK’s tenure. He emphasized that the AIADMK administration had refused to renew Sterlite’s license and took steps to shut down the plant.
The AIADMK leader also criticized the DMK for historical incidents of violence, including the shootings of farmers protesting power tariffs in 1972 and the deaths of Manjolai laborers in 1999. He accused the DMK of failing to fulfill its election promises and highlighted the AIADMK’s efforts to address issues such as NEET and rising commodity prices.
Palaniswami framed the upcoming Lok Sabha polls as an opportunity to end the dynasty politics of the DMK and emphasized the AIADMK’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the people of Tamil Nadu.
