AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami Takes Aim at PMK, Alleges Lack of Concern for People’s Welfare
In the midst of the fervent election campaign in Tamil Nadu, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami has launched a scathing attack on the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), accusing its leadership of prioritizing political alliances over the welfare of the people.
Palaniswami’s remarks came during his campaign for Dharmapuri Lok Sabha AIADMK candidate R Ashokan in Salem, where he underscored the AIADMK’s pivotal role in propelling PMK President Anbumani Ramadoss to parliamentary success. He emphasized that Ramadoss’s tenure as an MP was made possible solely through the support of the AIADMK and the voters who rallied behind the party.
Addressing recent comments by Ramadoss disparaging the AIADMK, Palaniswami reiterated that the PMK leader owes his political career to the AIADMK’s patronage, dismissing Ramadoss’s claims as baseless and politically motivated. He criticized the PMK’s allegiance to the BJP-led alliance, accusing the party of forsaking the interests of the people for the sake of political expediency.
Palaniswami also took aim at the PMK’s stance on issues such as NEET, alleging that the party’s alliance with the BJP contributed to the introduction of controversial policies detrimental to Tamil Nadu’s interests. He condemned the PMK’s shift in alliances, attributing it to a pursuit of power and party positions rather than genuine concern for the welfare of the populace.
Furthermore, Palaniswami lambasted Chief Minister MK Stalin and the DMK, accusing them of engaging in smear campaigns against the AIADMK while neglecting to highlight their own achievements. He criticized the DMK’s performance in parliament, asserting that despite having a sizable contingent of MPs, the party failed to effectively advocate for the interests of Tamil Nadu.
Highlighting the purported shortcomings of the DMK regime, Palaniswami asserted that under their governance, Tamil Nadu had regrettably led in corruption and excessive borrowing. He urged voters to consider the track record of the AIADMK and the perceived failures of the DMK before casting their ballots in the upcoming elections.
