Kurangu Pedal to release 3 May

Excitement mounts as the release date for the much-anticipated film, “Kurangu Pedal,” under the banner of Sivakarthikeyan Productions, has been officially unveiled. Directed by Kamalakannan, the film is all set to hit theatres on May 3.

Kurangu Pedal has been selected as one of the three Tamil films for the esteemed Indian Panorama section of the 53rd International Film Festival of India. This recognition underscores the film’s artistic merit and storytelling prowess.

Director Kamalakannan, known for his directorial ventures such as “Madhubaanakadai” (2012) and “Vattam” (2022), promises to deliver a poignant narrative that resonates deeply with audiences. Inspired by the short story “Cycle” penned by Rasi Azhagappan, “Kurangu Pedal” transports viewers to the summer of the 1980s in Salem’s enchanting Katheri village.

At its heart, the film explores the tender bond between a determined son, eager to master the art of cycling, and his supportive father. Set against the rustic backdrop of rural Tamil Nadu, “Kurangu Pedal” promises to unravel the complexities of family dynamics and the pursuit of dreams.

The stellar cast includes Santhosh Velumurugan, VR Ragavan, M Gnanasekar, Rathish, and Sai Ganesh, who breathe life into the narrative with their compelling performances. Noteworthy additions to the ensemble are Kaali Venkat, essaying the role of the father, alongside Prasanna Balachander and Jenson Diwakar from the renowned YouTube channel Nakkalites.

With music by Ghibran Vaibodha, cinematography by Sumee Baskaran, editing by Shivanandeeswaran, and sound design by Antony BJ Ruban, “Kurangu Pedal” promises a sensory cinematic experience that will linger in the hearts of viewers long after the credits roll.
