A brazen robbery at a gold jewellery store in Muthapudupet near Avadi has sent shockwaves through the local community, with authorities working tirelessly to bring the perpetrators to justice. Two suspects have been apprehended in connection with the crime, shedding light on the intricate web of criminal activity that led to the theft of Rs 1.5 crore worth of gold jewels.

The arrested individuals, R Dinesh Kumar and Shetanram, both hailing from Rajasthan, are believed to have played crucial roles in aiding the main accused during the planning and execution of the robbery. Police investigations have revealed that the duo provided logistical support and shelter to the perpetrators, facilitating their escape following the heist.
Acting on a tip-off, a special team of Avadi City police managed to nab Dinesh Kumar and Shetanram in the Palavavedu area, seizing a significant amount of stolen goods in the process. Among the items recovered were 3 kg of gold, silver articles, and over Rs 3 lakh in cash, providing valuable evidence for the ongoing investigation.
Further inquiries have revealed that the accused individuals were residing in a rental accommodation on Barracks Road, Periamedu, where they received assistance for their basic needs from Dinesh Kumar and Shetanram. The arrest of these individuals marks a significant breakthrough in the case, bringing authorities one step closer to apprehending all those involved in the daring robbery.
Meanwhile, efforts are underway to track down the main suspect responsible for orchestrating the robbery, with a special team dispatched to Rajasthan in pursuit of the fugitive. The incident, which occurred on April 15, saw a gang of armed robbers enter the jewellery store under the guise of customers before brandishing weapons and making off with the valuable loot.
