Dunes CA trainees participate in an under-14 tournament in Bengaluru


A team from Dunes Cricket Academy in Dubai will be taking part in the All India Under-14 National League Cricket Championship at Bengaluru.
It is organised by the Cricket Federation of Karnataka under the aegis of Cricket Federation of India.
The talented, young Nirmay Puthanveettil is leading the Dunes CA team in the all-India tournament, which is expected to provide exposure to the players to different playing conditions.
According to Stephen Vincent, head coach, Dunes CA, the trip to Bengaluru to take part in the tournament, is part of the management’s plan to provide exposure to the young players.
“I have to thank the management (of Dunes) for arranging the trip to India to play in the tournament as it would benefit the players a great deal. It would allow them the opportunity to learn playing in Indian conditions,” Vincent said.
The squad is made up of players from different academies in UAE and is managed by coach Hari.
Vincent, a coach with vast experience and having worked with renowned coaches like Australian Terry Jenner and former India cricketer Robin Singh among others.
He also played for Southern Railway in the TNCA league and worked with several players like Varun Chakravarthy, Shahbaz Nadeem who went on to play for the country.
Hari, who is accompanying the team to Bengaluru, has gained a lot of experience working under Vincent.
Nirmay got selected and played U-14 Kerala Zonal matches recently. He also played the U-14 ICSCE Schools National games in India  representing UAE Schools as a SGFI (Schools Games Federation of India) National player.
Recently, Nirmay and Shariq played in the U-13 & U-16 ECB inter-Emirates  tournament in UAE representing the Dubai team and the ECB Invitational team respectively. Nirmay was the highest wicket taker of the U13 tournament and 4th highest wicket taker in U16 tournament.
Shariq being a top-order batsman hit a superb century during U-13 inter-Emirates tournament in the final against Sharjah.
