DJ takes a dig at Annamalai

Jayakumar ridiculed Annamalai, calling him a ‘proud Kannadiga’ who lacks basic political knowledge.
“Those who are trying to malign the charismatic leader (J Jayalalithaa) will face the music and fade away from the political frames of the Dravidian land,” Jayakumar declared, while releasing the speeches of the late AIADMK supremo on issues related to the Ram temple and the demolition of the Babri Masjid.
Jayakumar drew parallels with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah’s election campaigns that targeted Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s close aide V K Pandian. He argued that political leaders who preach sectarianism and do not support the growth of Tamilians in other states are criticizing a leader who championed secularism.
“Political forces like the BJP that preach and practice religious fanaticism are dangerous to the country. We can feel and understand this beyond doubt by hearing statements and remarks of persons like Annamalai,” Jayakumar emphasized.
He also criticized the growth of Annamalai’s wealth, implying corruption. “Whatever gained without hard work is nothing but a bundle of corruption,” Jayakumar said, referring to Annamalai’s claim that his friends and well-wishers were covering his house rent, vehicle fuel, and assistants’ salaries.
