Annamalai defends Modi

In a heated exchange, BJP state president K. Annamalai responded sharply to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s respect for the Constitution. Stalin had claimed that the recent Lok Sabha poll results had made Modi bow down to the Constitution, marking the 41st victory for the INDIA front after winning 40 seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Annamalai, taking to social media platform X on Sunday, asserted that Prime Minister Modi has always upheld and respected the Constitution. He accused the INDIA front of trampling on the Constitution whenever they held power. “It’s my duty to remind the CM of TN about Modi avl’s life and the respect he has for the Indian Constitution, which for the I.N.D.I. Alliance is nothing but a piece of paper that can be trampled whenever and wherever they are in power,” Annamalai posted.

Modi’s Respect for the Constitution
Annamalai emphasized that Modi has demonstrated his respect for the Constitution since his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, countering Stalin’s assertions. He stated, “PM Narendra Modi has shown the highest respect and regard for the Constitution since his time as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, contrary to the claim of M.K. Stalin.”

Annamalai did not hold back in his criticism of Stalin, accusing him of disrespecting the Constitution. He alleged that Stalin, during his tenure as Chief Minister, showed “utter disregard for the Constitution by making midnight arrests for social media posts while letting criminals loiter in the streets.” He also pointed out that Stalin is allied “with a party that put our Constitution at grave threat” and argued that Stalin should be the last person to lecture on constitutional respect.
