Modi’s Chennai visit to launch Vande Bharat train postponed

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Chennai on June 20 has been postponed due to administrative reasons, the Tamil Nadu unit of the BJP announced on Sunday.

State BJP Vice President Karu Nagarajan confirmed the postponement and assured that a new date for the visit would be announced soon. “Due to administrative reasons, PM’s Tamil Nadu visit has been postponed. Soon, we will inform the new date of PM Modi’s visit. Accordingly, we will arrange a grand welcome for the PM,” Nagarajan stated.

Scheduled Launches Postponed
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi was expected to flag off the Egmore-Nagercoil Vande Bharat Express and inaugurate various other railway projects. Additionally, he was set to launch the Madurai to Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express via video conferencing. These events are now on hold pending the announcement of the new visit date.

Significance of the Visit
This visit was anticipated to be Modi’s first official trip to Tamil Nadu since he assumed office as Prime Minister for the third consecutive term. The launch of the Vande Bharat trains and other railway initiatives were seen as significant milestones in enhancing connectivity and promoting development in the region.

Awaiting New Schedule
The postponement has temporarily delayed these major railway inaugurations, but the BJP has assured that the events will be rescheduled promptly. The party is preparing to extend a warm and grand welcome to Prime Minister Modi upon his rescheduled visit.

The rescheduled date for the visit and the subsequent launch of the Vande Bharat trains and other projects are eagerly awaited by the public and officials alike, as these developments are poised to bring significant advancements in Tamil Nadu’s railway infrastructure.
