Pak beat Ireland by 3 wickets in Florida

Composed innings from Babar Azam countered brilliant collective bowling performance from Ireland to help Pakistan win by three wickets in match 36 of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida on Sunday.

Earlier Imad Wasim and Shaheen Shah Afridi picked three wickets a piece to restrict Ireland to 106/9 in 20 overs after skipper Babar Azam won the toss and opted to bowl first against Paul Stirling’s Ireland.

With the win Pakistan move to third place with four points in Group A and Ireland will remain at the bottom winless. However, irrespective of the result both teams won’t qualify for the Super Eight stage. India with seven points and the United States with five points have progressed from the group.
