Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi joined yoga enthusiasts, particularly youth from various educational institutions, to celebrate the 10th International Yoga Day at the Tamil Nadu Agriculture University (TNAU) campus in Coimbatore on Friday.
The event saw participation from over 1,000 youths representing around 50 institutions. Yoga experts and practitioners captivated the audience with mesmerizing and inspiring performances of various yogic asanas, according to a communique from Raj Bhavan.
In addition to the yoga demonstrations, Governor Ravi also contributed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ā€œEk Ped Maa Ke Naamā€ tree plantation campaign by planting Rudraksha saplings at the TNAU campus.
In his presidential address, the Governor highlighted the rich heritage of yoga in Tamil Nadu, recalling that some of its greatest proponents, Thirumoolar and Patanjali, hailed from this sacred land. He emphasized that yoga is a timeless gift from India to humanity, promoting comprehensive well-being on physical, intellectual, and spiritual levels.
ā€œYoga takes care of comprehensive well-being,ā€ Governor Ravi stated, underscoring its significance in promoting both individual and collective health.
