In a shocking incident, miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at the residence of a government contractor and DMK branch secretary in Thanjavur, causing minor damage to the property but fortunately leaving no one injured.
The incident occurred late Sunday night when Radhakrishnan (48), a resident of Sithukadu near Thiruchitrambalam, was away at his in-laws’ house in Valapiramman Kadu. Radhakrishnan, who is the DMK branch secretary and a government contractor, had gone to visit his in-laws while his mother was sleeping in the nearby house.
According to police reports, an unidentified gang approached Radhakrishnan’s house during the late hours and threw a petrol bomb, which damaged the windows but caused no injuries as the family was not present at the time. Upon receiving information about the attack, Radhakrishnan rushed back to his house and promptly lodged a complaint with the Thiruchitrambalam police.
The police, led by Superintendent of Police Ashish Rawat and Pattukkottai DSP Baskar, visited the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. Authorities are currently conducting a search for the perpetrators, and a case has been registered in connection with the incident.
This attack on a prominent political figure has raised concerns about safety and security in the area. Local residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
