Former DMK Minister V Senthilbalaji was discharged from the Tamil Nadu Government Multi Speciality Hospital (TNGMSSH) in Omandurar on Tuesday evening, following his admission on July 21 due to chest pain and breathlessness.
Upon experiencing chest pain while at Puzhal Central Jail, Senthilbalaji was initially taken to Stanley Medical College and Hospital. Following medical advice from Stanley, he was transferred to TNGMSSH for further treatment.
At TNGMSSH, Senthilbalaji was admitted to the intensive care unit and underwent a series of diagnostic tests, including an ECG and cardiac tests, to assess any potential damage to a previously operated area or to detect any new blockages. The tests were critical in ensuring his condition was stable and determining the appropriate course of treatment.
Following significant health improvements, Senthilbalaji was discharged on Tuesday evening and returned to Puzhal Central Jail. This recent health episode comes after his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in June of last year in connection with a money laundering case.
Senthilbalaji has had a history of health issues since his arrest. Shortly after being taken into custody, he experienced sudden chest pain, leading to his admission to the Government Multi Speciality Hospital. He subsequently underwent a coronary angiogram and heart surgery at a private hospital in Adyar. Since then, he has been receiving ongoing treatment for his health concerns while being imprisoned at Puzhal jail.
