Mayaputhagam follows the journey of Muruga Ashok, an aspiring film director, who seeks guidance from a renowned sage to achieve his dreams. Following the sage’s advice, Ashok approaches a producer, Ilavarasu, who instructs him to visit a bungalow in Megamalai and read a specific book there before starting the film shoot.
