TN launches helpline to support investors

The Tamil Nadu State Industries Department has introduced a new Biz Buddy Helpline (9894322233) aimed at providing support and convenience to investors and entrepreneurs in the state. The helpline was launched on Monday by State Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa following a review meeting held with key officials overseeing industrial development across Tamil Nadu.

The meeting, chaired by Minister Rajaa, brought together Project Officers from all SIPCOT (State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu) industrial parks, special DROs (Deputy Revenue Officers) responsible for land acquisition, and engineers. The discussion focused on the establishment of new industrial parks, the realization of investments, progress in land acquisition efforts, and the upgrading of infrastructure within existing industrial parks.

In addition to launching the helpline, the meeting also saw a decision to reschedule the monthly Biz Buddy meetings, which will now take place on the second Friday of every month instead of Mondays. These meetings serve as a platform for addressing the concerns of investors and entrepreneurs, helping to resolve issues and streamline the process of doing business in Tamil Nadu.

According to a government release, Minister Rajaa emphasized the need for improved coordination among officials to expedite the implementation of various announcements made by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and the Industries Department in the State Assembly. He urged officials to work diligently in identifying suitable land for industrial development, highlighting the importance of projecting Tamil Nadu as a premier destination for business.

“It is our duty to ensure that Tamil Nadu stands out as the best place to do business,” Rajaa stated, encouraging officials to identify new opportunities for establishing SIPCOT units in districts that currently lack such facilities. This move is expected to drive industrial growth and create employment opportunities in underserved regions.
