Special trains for long weekend announced

In response to the anticipated increase in passenger demand during the upcoming long weekend and Independence Day holiday on August 15, Southern Railway (SR) has announced special trains to accommodate the extra rush. Advance reservations for these special services are now open.
Tirunelveli – Chengalpattu Special (Train No. 06020):
This train will depart from Tirunelveli at 10:50 pm on August 13 and 18, arriving in Chengalpattu at 11:00 am the following day. Key stops include Madurai (01:15/01:20 am), Tiruchchirappalli (03:25/03:35 am), and Villupuram (08:55/09:00 am).
Chengalpattu – Tirunelveli Special (Train No. 06019):
The return service will leave Chengalpattu at 5:55 am on August 14 and 19, reaching Tirunelveli at 05:50 am the next day. Stops include Villupuram (7:45/7:50 pm), Tiruchchirappalli (12:20/12:30 am), and Madurai (02:45/02:50 am).
The coach composition for these trains includes one AC two-tier coach, three AC three-tier coaches, six sleeper class coaches, seven general second class coaches, and two disabled-friendly second class coaches.
Mysuru – Karaikkudi Express Special (Train No. 06295):
This train will depart from Mysuru at 9:30 pm on August 14 and 17, arriving in Karaikkudi at 12:45 pm the next day. It will stop at Salem (05:40/05:50 am) and Tiruchchirappalli (09:40/09:50 am).
Karaikkudi – Mysuru Express Special (Train No. 06296):
The return journey will leave Karaikkudi at 7:00 pm on August 15 and 18, reaching Mysuru at 09:10 am the next day. Stops include Tiruchchirappalli (8:40/8:50 pm) and Salem (11:45/11:50 pm).
This train’s coach composition includes two AC two-tier coaches, two AC three-tier coaches, six sleeper class coaches, six general second class coaches, and two disabled-friendly second class coaches.
Passengers are encouraged to book their tickets in advance to secure their seats during the holiday rush.
