In the second round of engineering counseling in Tamil Nadu, provisional allotment orders have been issued to 63,729 students. The online counseling process is being conducted in three phases to fill 1.80 lakh seats in engineering colleges across the state.
The first round of counseling began last month and concluded on August 10. In this round, 19,922 students from general and vocational streams were admitted to various engineering colleges.
The second round of counseling commenced on August 10, with 77,948 eligible candidates invited to participate. Of these, 62,270 candidates selected their preferred courses and institutions. A total of 55,875 students received provisional allotment orders during this round.
Additionally, under the 7.5% reservation quota for government school students, 8,738 candidates selected their preferred options, and 7,854 of them received allotment orders.
Overall, 63,729 students have been granted provisional allotment orders in this second round of counseling.
The third and final phase of counseling is scheduled to begin on August 23 and will conclude on September 4.
