Chennai: Actress and BJP National Executive Committee member Khushbu Sundar has announced her resignation from the National Commission for Women (NCW) and her return to active politics.
Khushbu, who was appointed as a member of the National Commission for Women and Children on February 27, 2023, unexpectedly announced her resignation from the post on August 14, 2024.
In her statement, Khushbu explained the reasons behind her decision to step down. She expressed that after 14 years of service in politics, she felt a deep-seated change in her heart. She decided to resign from the NCW to fully dedicate herself to working within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a party she holds in high regard. Khushbu mentioned that the responsibilities associated with her role at the NCW imposed certain restrictions that limited her involvement in active politics.
Khushbu emphasized that her resignation was driven by a renewed enthusiasm to engage fully in political activities. She stated that she now feels free to serve with full dedication and passion. She also confirmed that she would be participating in an upcoming flag-hoisting event at the BJP headquarters in Chennai.
