In a press conference held in Chennai yesterday, Seeman, the coordinator of the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK), addressed various political issues, including the speculation about a possible alliance with Tamilaga Vetrikalagam, as well as his views on the DMK’s relationship with the BJP.
Seeman clarified the rumors about a potential alliance between NTK and Tamilaga Vetrikalagam, stating, “There is a lot of buzz about our party forming an alliance with Tamilaga Vetrikalagam, but the decision to ally rests solely with Tamilaga Vetrikalagam’s leader, Vijay.”
He then shifted his focus to the DMK, criticizing the party for labeling anyone who opposes them as “Sanghis” (a term often used to describe RSS members or affiliates of right-wing groups). Seeman accused the DMK of being a “B-team” of the BJP, stating, “Despite Chief Minister Stalin’s public criticism of the Union Government for neglecting Tamil Nadu in the Central budget and boycotting the NITI Aayog meeting in protest, he had no qualms about celebrating with Union ministers when the Central Government issued a ₹100 coin in honor of his father, Karunanidhi.”
Seeman went on to challenge Stalin’s stance, asking, “Stalin, is your bravado and anger against the BJP limited to just this? Have you surrendered for a mere ₹100 coin?”
He also questioned the achievements of the DMK government in the last three years, apart from the implementation of the ₹1,000 monthly entitlement for women.
Regarding recent controversies, Seeman distanced himself from defamatory comments made against Trichy SP Varunkumar, stating, “I have no connection to the defamatory remarks against Varunkumar. Those who made obscene comments on social media have been removed from the party.”
Seeman further expressed his frustration at the ongoing derogatory comments targeting him, his family, and the women in his party. “I endure the slander directed at my family on social media. While I could accuse Varunkumar and his supporters of orchestrating these attacks, I choose not to.”
