Produced by Shanthi Thiagarajan under the Star Movies banner, the film Andhagan, directed by actor and filmmaker Thiagarajan and starring Prashanth, was released on August 9. The movie has achieved significant success both at the box office and among critics.To express their gratitude to the media and fans, the Andhagan team organized a celebratory event in Chennai. The event was attended by director Thiagarajan, director-actor K.S. Ravikumar, Prashanth, actresses Simran, Vanitha Vijayakumar, Priya Anand, Semmalar Annam, actor Besant Ravi, art director Senthil Raghavan, stunt director Ramkumar, and director Praveen Gandhi.
During her speech, actress Simran shared her joy, stating, “I have completed 29 years in the film industry, and in this 30th year, Andhagan has turned out to be a super hit. For this, I must thank director Thiagarajan for giving me the opportunity to act in this film.”
Simran further praised Thiagarajan’s demeanor on set, saying, “Thiagarajan is calm on the set, and his presence brings a peaceful environment, but the work is always carried out with great efficiency. Prashanth has been my lucky co-star, and I thank him as well.”
She also complimented her co-star Priya Anand, noting, “Priya acted beautifully and realistically in the film. I wish for her to rise as a pan-Indian star.”
Prashanth, in his speech, expressed his heartfelt gratitude, saying, “I want to first extend my sincere thanks to the media and fans who have made Andhagan a huge success.”
He continued, “From the moment the film was released, the reviews had a strong impact on the audience.”
Prashanth attributed the film’s success to the experienced cast, including Karthik, stating, “Veteran actors like Karthik played a crucial role in the film’s success. His energy on set was infectious and motivated the entire team.”
He also reflected on working with other notable stars like Samuthirakani, K.S. Ravikumar, Urvashi, and Yogi Babu, calling it an unforgettable experience. “Even though I’ve acted in many successful films, the experience of working on Andhagan was different. Particularly, working alongside a respected director like K.S. Ravikumar, Urvashi, and Yogi Babu made each day on set a learning experience. We took the time to thoroughly understand each scene and rehearsed to enhance it,” he concluded.
