Chennai: Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma. Subramanian released the rank list for MBBS and BDS admissions for the academic year 2024-25 today (August 19).

The first round of counseling, conducted by the Medical Selection Committee, is set to begin on August 21. Namakkal student Rajinish secured the top rank with a perfect score of 720.

For the 2024-25 academic year, the rank list for undergraduate medical courses (MBBS, BDS) was officially released by Minister Ma. Subramanian on August 19. Following the release, the minister announced that the counseling process for medical admissions in Tamil Nadu will commence on August 21. A total of 43,063 candidates have applied this year, which is an increase of 2,721 applicants compared to the previous year. Out of these, 3,733 applications were received under the 7.5% reservation category.

In the rank list, Namakkal student Rajinish achieved the first position with a perfect score of 720. The second rank was secured by Chennai student Syed Yusuf, while the third position was taken by Chennai student Sailaja. Following them, Sriram secured the fourth rank, Jayathi Poorvaja the fifth, Namakkal student Rohit the sixth, and Sabareesan the seventh position.

In the rank list specifically for students from government schools under the 7.5% reservation, student Rubika secured the first position. Chennai Saidapet school student Gayathri Devi took the second spot, and Dhandaramapat student Anushiya came in third.

Notably, two students from Saidapet Government School secured the top two ranks under the 7.5% reservation category. Compared to last year, an additional 150 students have been allotted seats under this category. The minister emphasized that the rank list was released transparently, ensuring fairness in the process.

This year’s rank list and upcoming counseling sessions are pivotal for the future medical professionals of Tamil Nadu, setting the stage for their educational journey in the field of medicine.
