The Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai has announced that moderate rainfall is likely to continue in certain areas of Tamil Nadu until August 27, following a shift in the low-level atmospheric circulation. In a report released yesterday, the Meteorological Centre noted that the low-level circulation, which had been present over the Kumari Sea and surrounding areas, had caused heavy rainfall in districts from Kanyakumari to Salem over the past few days. However, this circulation has now moved away from the Tamil Nadu region.
As a result, some parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are expected to experience moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, today and tomorrow. Following this, moderate rainfall is expected to continue in a few areas across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry until August 27.
