Acclaimed actress Keerthy Suresh has added a new feather to her cap by becoming the co-owner of the Trivandrum Royals, a team set to compete in the upcoming Kerala Cricket League (KCL). This exciting development comes as the KCL gears up for its inaugural matches, scheduled to take place in Kerala starting this September.
Cricket, often considered a religion in India, enjoys a fervent following that rivals the nation’s passion for cinema. In response to the widespread enthusiasm for the IPL, the KCL is set to provide Kerala’s cricket fans with a unique experience, combining the thrill of the sport with the glamour of celebrity involvement.
Keerthy Suresh, known for her impactful performances on the silver screen, now steps into the world of sports ownership, joining a growing list of film stars who have ventured into cricket team ownership. As the co-owner of Trivandrum Royals, she is expected to bring her star power and influence to the team, enhancing its appeal both on and off the field.
The KCL is dedicated to nurturing cricket in Kerala, with a focus on identifying and promoting young talent. The tournament will feature six teams from prominent cities across the state, competing in a total of 33 matches. The complete schedule, along with details of the participating teams and players, will be announced soon.
Adding to the excitement, Malayalam cinema legend Mohanlal has been named the ambassador for the KCL, further elevating the event’s profile. All matches will be broadcast live on Star Sports, with the first match, semi-finals, and finals also airing on Asianet.
As anticipation builds, fans can look forward to a thrilling cricketing event that brings together the best of Kerala’s sporting and cinematic worlds. With Keerthy Suresh at the helm of Trivandrum Royals, the KCL is poised to make a significant impact on the regional sports scene.
