West Bengal Chief minister Mamata Banerjee visited the site of the junior doctors’ strike outside Swasthya Bhavan and said that as a former student leader herself, she understood the purpose of the doctors’ protests and vowed to bring justice to the victim of the RG Kar rape and murder case.
She also said āSeniors won’t be able to work without your assistance, I urge you to resume work.ā
The CM promised no adverse action would be taken against the doctors.
Addressing protesting doctors outside of Swasthya Bhavan, Mamata Banerjee said she was not there as a chief minister but as an elder sister.
Acknowledging their hard work, she requested doctors to return to work and pledged that they would not face any adverse consequences.
