In a strong statement, the Tamil Nadu BJP has urged Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to take immediate and necessary actions to curb the rampant drug trafficking in the state, stressing the importance of protecting the welfare of the youth.
The party’s statement read, Alarming reports have emerged that reveal the involvement of around 850 police and government officials, who were supposed to prevent drug trafficking, but instead, have been colluding with the traffickers. This shocking revelation has left the public in disbelief. The failure of Chief Minister Stalin and the DMK government to monitor the officials under their administration over the years clearly highlights the administrative failure of the government.
In the past three years, Tamil Nadu has seen a significant rise in drug usage and the violent crimes associated with it. The bitter truth is that a large number of young people, including school and college students, have fallen prey to the vicious grip of drugs, destroying their future. In the interest of the welfare of the youth, we urge Chief Minister Stalin to take stringent measures to curb drug trafficking in the state,” the statement concluded.
