Tiruchy, Sept 20: Former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami stated that Tamil Nadu has transformed into a hub for drugs. He made these remarks during the inauguration of the Spectra Auditorium at the Musiri Institute of Technology (MIT), an agricultural technology college in Musiri, Tiruchirappalli district. The college, owned by the former chairman of cooperative societies, Ilangovan, recently built the air-conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of 1,000.During his speech, Palaniswami highlighted that the change in government had hindered the implementation of the Home Garden Vegetable Project, which aimed to promote vegetable cultivation at the household level. He assured that if the AIADMK comes back to power, this project would be revived.
He also emphasized the need for water retention projects to boost agriculture in Tamil Nadu and improve the state’s farming sector. Additionally, to enhance milk production, Palaniswami pointed out that an animal park and research farm were established on 1,000 acres in Thalaivasal, Salem district, at a cost of INR 1,000 crore.
